We’ve all heard Lao Tzu’s quote, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” I love this quote not only because it’s true, but also because it’s so liberating. We don’t have to worry about the 999+ miles still to go; we just have to worry about this step that we’re taking HERE and NOW.
Regardless of whether your “thousand-mile journey” is losing a significant amount of weight, training for an athletic event, rehabbing a persistent injury, or anything else that feels insurmountable and almost unattainable, every single step you take toward your goal will help get you there! To that end, I’m running a series of posts I call “One Small Thing.” Each One Small Thing is a micro challenge, a “single step” you can take to move yourself farther along in your journey to health and fitness.
